Working with Books - Past Experience

I have a long history of working with books, previously I was a library assistant for 17 years at one of the biggest and busiest public libraries in Devon. I worked across multiple departments both locally and centrally. My role was incredibly varied, including (in a nutshell) serving the general public, stock work, plus a variety of design, display and website work. It gave me vast experience of how people (of all ages and abilities) choose, use, navigate and interact with books.

Book Cover and Dust Jacket Design

You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. That’s true. However, the cover will get the book noticed, attract people to it and draw them in. My bespoke book cover and dust jacket design service is available separately, or it can be included as part of a complete book design package.

When it comes to book design, I understand the complexities and challenges that non-fiction can bring about; there may be lots of data to communicate. The content of a non-fiction book needs to be logically arranged whilst maintaining a visually attractive style and easy-to-use layout. The reader should be able to navigate the book with ease.
